Stop-N-Go and Open Pantry Food Marts made Pittsburgh Panthers slogan buttons from around 1977 until at least 1984, but maybe later. For more information, follow this link to see old newspaper articles about the program. They made slogans for home games and Penn State road games only, likely because those Penn State “road” games were at Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh, not in Beaver Stadium. The buttons were blue except for in 1980 and 1983 when they were yellow.

1977 Stop N Go
Still The One is probably Tulane, from New Orleans, because there is a 1977 song by the band Orleans song with that name. Pitt played Tulane in 77 and 78. So maybe they made buttons in 1977 but didn’t do a slogan contest? That means there’s probably a 1977 Penn State button, which was home.

While it fits the blue, yellow, blue, yellow theme for this to be 1985, Pitt played at Temple in 1985 and the only road buttons were for PSU. So this could be 1987, when Pitt played Temple at home. This would mean there are 1985 (yellow) and 1986 (blue) buttons out there.
